Seamless Boiler Tubes — common questions

What is the difference between A192 and A210?
Both are seamless carbon steel boiler tube specifications. A192 is a minimum-carbon tube for high-pressure service where the tube is under moderate stress, typically water wall and economiser. A210 has higher specified tensile strength — Gr.A1 and the stronger Gr.C — for duty where wall stress is greater. Your boiler maker's drawing will state which; they are not interchangeable.
Do boiler tubes always need IBR certification?
For any tube forming part of a boiler or its integral piping under the Indian Boiler Regulations, yes. It is your boiler inspector's call, and it must be arranged before supply because the form is issued against a specific consignment. Tell us at enquiry stage.
