What is the lead time for L&T ball valves?
Standard catalogue sizes may be available in a few weeks. Anything engineered against a datasheet — specific trim, fire-safe certification, NACE, TPI witness points — is generally 6 to 12 weeks ex-works. We flag long-lead items at quotation stage rather than let a project schedule discover them later.
What does 'fire safe' actually certify?
That the valve has been physically tested to API 607 or API 6FA: burned at around 750°C for a set period while under pressure, then operated and leak-tested. It proves the valve will still shut off after its soft seats have been destroyed by fire, because a secondary metal seat takes over. It is specified on hydrocarbon service, and it is a tested certification, not a design claim.
