If a pump discharge line is banging every time the pump trips, this is the product that fixes it. Two spring-assisted half plates have a fraction of the inertia of a swing disc and travel a much shorter distance, so they close before significant reverse flow can build up — and it is the reverse flow, not the closure itself, that generates the surge. Advance Dual Plate Check Valves — common questions

Will a dual plate check valve stop water hammer completely?
It will reduce the surge substantially compared with a swing check, and on most pumped water systems that is enough. It will not eliminate hammer caused by rapid valve closure elsewhere, long pipe runs with high velocity, or column separation on a steep rising main — those need a surge analysis and possibly an air vessel or a slow-closing valve. Tell us the pump duty, static head and line length and we will say honestly whether the valve alone will solve it.
Can a dual plate valve replace an existing swing check?
Usually yes, and that is a large part of the appeal: a wafer dual plate valve is only 50 to 100 mm thick, so it drops into the gap left when you remove a much longer swing check, often without re-working the pipe. Confirm the flange standard and the available face-to-face gap and we will confirm the fit before you order.
