Jindal Star is also traded by weight against a frequently revised mill list. The practical difference from Jindal Hissar is the size range: Star goes to 24 inch under IS 3589, where pricing is quoted against outside diameter and wall thickness in millimetres rather than a light/medium/heavy class.

What moves the Jindal Star price

Wall thickness and diameter, since both drive weight. Above 150 mm the thickness is specified directly, so the design pressure you are working to has an immediate commercial effect — over-specifying thickness on a large water main is expensive.

Lead time

Sizes up to 150 mm are generally ex-stock. Large diameter pipe for water and sewage mains is often mill-despatched and may take a week or more, particularly if bevelled ends or a specific thickness is required.

Up to 150 mm: nominal bore and class. Above 150 mm: outside diameter and wall thickness in millimetres, plus end preparation. In both cases quantity in metres or tonnes, and the delivery location for freight.
