Is Kartar accepted on government and municipal work?
Where the tender specifies an ISI marked cast iron valve to IS 14846 or IS 5312 without naming a brand, yes — and Kartar is widely supplied against municipal and PWD orders on that basis. Where the tender names a specific brand, you must supply that brand. Send us the specification page and we will tell you plainly whether Kartar qualifies.
When should I not use Kartar?
Steam, high pressure, IBR-governed lines, sour service, or anything requiring API certification or third-party inspection against a client's approved vendor list. For those, go to L&T or Audco. Using a general-purpose water valve on steam duty is a false economy that we will talk you out of.
