Expansion Bellows & Flexible Joints in Delhi

A bellows absorbs what rigid pipework cannot: pump vibration, thermal growth, and the small misalignments that are unavoidable on site. Fit one either side of a pump and the noise transmitted into the building drops noticeably, and the pump flanges stop taking bending loads they were never designed for. On hot lines they take up expansion that would otherwise buckle the pipe or tear a branch off.

Do I need control rods on a rubber bellows?

If the line is not anchored either side of the joint, yes. Pressure inside a bellows generates a thrust that tries to stretch it, and without either fixed anchors or control rods across the joint it will over-extend and eventually tear. Any bellows on an unanchored pumped line should have them.

Rubber or stainless steel bellows?

Rubber for cold and warm water, pump vibration isolation and noise — it absorbs far more vibration and costs less. Stainless metallic bellows for steam, thermic fluid and anything above roughly 100°C, where rubber degrades. Match the elastomer to the medium: EPDM for water, Nitrile where oil is present.
